Nondestructive Testing Technologies Certification Program

The AATA NDT Technologies Certification Program is a structured 400-hour curriculum designed to prepare individuals for occupational roles in nondestructive testing and inspection. The training meets or exceeds SNT-TC-1A (latest edition) and NAS 410 Rev 5, the two most widely recognized industry standards for qualification and certification in NDT.

 

Training Breakdown:

The program includes instruction in the following NDT methods:

  • Week 1: Liquid Penetrant Testing Level I & II (40 hours)

  • Week 2: Magnetic Particle Testing Level I & II (40 hours)

  • Week 3–4: Ultrasonic Testing Level I & II (80 hours)

  • Week 5: Radiation Safety (40 hours)

  • Week 6–7: Radiographic Testing Level I & II (80 hours)

  • Week 8: Introduction to Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (40 hours)

  • Week 9: Visual Testing Level I & II (40 hours)

  • Week 10: Introduction to Computed & Digital Radiography (CR/DR) (40 hours)

Optional: In-person hands-on lab training for MT, PT, UT, and PAUT in Los Angeles or Houston.

Students learn through a blended program of visual, verbal, demonstration and hands-on. The NDT Technologies Certification Program is available to all individuals aged 18 and older, including both high school students and working adults.
